Hello! I am currently in graduate school to
become a
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and am completing my
internship. That means, I need hours doing what I’ve been learning how to do
for the last three years - marriage and family counseling!
Beginning
May 15, 2009 I will open a practice in Capitol Hill - the heart of
Denver. As I identify as having an alternative sexual orientation, I will be
hoping to give back to the community by working with
individuals/couples/families who identify as such. Remember, in the kinky
community “couple” and “family” do not necessarily adhere to the traditional
definition of those words. That is just fine by me. If you identify as being a
couple, or a family, I would love to work with you.
On the flip side, I do not wish to limit my practice to those who live an
alternative lifestyle. So, if you know someone who could use my services -
alternative or not - please give them my contact information.
I will be supervised by a professor who is a
Licensed Professional Counselor
(LPC) and has been practicing for the last 20 years. He is aware of my
orientation and supports the direction in which I would like to take my
practice.
Costs would be minimal - $35 per hour - and can be adjusted based upon ability
to pay. I am charging only because I have to pay for my own space, malpractice
insurance, supervision, etc. As I am not licensed, I cannot submit to insurance
companies for payment. However, I feel confident that this fee is equal to or
less than most insurance company co-pays. If you are interested, and cannot
afford the fee, please contact me anyway.
If you’re interested, or just have questions - I can be contacted via email at lorene@bloomfamilytherapy.com.
My website - www.bloomfamilytherapy.com -
will tell you a bit about my personal therapeutic philosophy.
